Tapi ruangan tetap terasa gerah? Bisa jadi masalahnya bukan pada kebiasaan pakai, melainkan pada <strong>kapasitas AC<\/strong> itu sendiri yang sejak awal sudah tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan ruangan, apalagi di tengah cuaca panas ekstrem.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Banyak yang mengira asal AC menyala dan terasa dingin, urusan selesai. Padahal, unit AC yang terlalu kecil untuk ruangannya akan terus memaksa kompresor bekerja ekstra keras tanpa pernah benar-benar mencapai suhu target. Apalagi saat suhu di luar ruangan mencapai 37-42\u00b0C seperti yang beberapa kali terjadi di Indonesia sepanjang 2026. Artikel ini akan membantu Anda menghitung sendiri apakah unit di rumah sudah pas, atau justru perlu dievaluasi ulang.<\/p>\r\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kenapa AC yang Dulu Cukup, Sekarang Terasa Kurang?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kapasitas unit AC yang dipasang bertahun-tahun lalu mungkin memang pas untuk kondisi saat itu. Masalahnya, beban panas yang harus diatasi AC bukan cuma soal luas ruangan. Cuaca luar yang makin panas ikut menambah beban kerja unit, meskipun ukuran ruangan dan jumlah penghuni tidak berubah sama sekali.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inilah yang menjadi penyebab AC yang dulunya terasa cukup dingin, sekarang mulai terasa kurang bertenaga di jam-jam terpanas. Bukan berarti AC-nya rusak. Angka 500 di rumus ini adalah koefisien standar yang dipakai teknisi AC untuk ruangan tropis seperti di Indonesia. Dengan asumsi kondisi umum: tinggi plafon sekitar 2,5-3 meter, dihuni 1-2 orang, dan tidak terpapar sinar matahari langsung. Kalau kamar Anda saat ini justru memakai AC 3\/4 PK (7.000 BTU\/h), artinya unit tersebut sudah kekecilan sejak awal. Namun kenyataannya banyak sumber panas lain di luar sekadar ukuran ruangan yang ikut membebani kerja AC, apalagi saat suhu udara luar sedang tinggi-tingginya.<\/p>\r\n<p>Setiap sumber panas tambahan ini pada dasarnya menambah &#8220;pekerjaan&#8221; yang harus dibereskan AC setiap jamnya, sehingga koefisien 500 perlu dinaikkan menjadi 550-600 BTU\/m\u00b2 supaya kapasitas AC tetap mencukupi.
